Workshops Policy
When you take a class with Improvisation Queensland, you agree to abide by our workshops policy. These policies are designed to help you and other workshop participants have a positive experience. If you have any questions about the policies, please feel free to send us an email.
Terms and Conditions of Workshop Registration
Refund Policy
Students are entitled to a full refund if they request it before the start of the second workshop.
After this point, refunds are not available except at the workshop director’s discretion.
Students are not entitled to a refund if they do not attend a workshop but continue to be enrolled in the course (e.g. they miss a week).
If for any reason the workshop does not go ahead or we are unable to provide a student with a place, a full refund will be available.
Age Limit
All of our workshops, unless otherwise stated, are for individuals aged 18 years and over. If you are under 18 (eg 17 years old) and wish to attend, please send us an email and we can discuss whether the workshop is suitable.
Creating a Safe Environment
Imrpov QLD has a strict no drug or alcohol policy for all of its classes. This is necessary for safety and to make sure everyone gets the most they possibly can out of the class.
Students are to respect each other’s personal space. Understand that other people may have a different sense of personal space to you. You are to follow the directions from your teacher regarding personal space and physical contact at all times.
Understand other people may have different personal values and beliefs to you. While comedy does involve playing with the line of the appropriate and the inappropriate, please avoid sexist, racist, homophobic or otherwise offensive comments.
We will not tolerate aggressive or threatening behaviour.
Take care of yourself – be aware of your personal limits (physical, mental and otherwise) and don’t be afraid to let the teacher know if you don’t feel comfortable doing an exercise.
Failure to follow class rules on personal safety or directions from your teacher regarding safety may result in your being immediately removed from the class. No refunds are available if this occurs.
Workshop participants are strongly encouraged to let their teacher know immediately if ever they feel uncomfortable or unsafe during a workshop.
You will be provided information on how to report any concerns about your workshop by your workshop teacher at your first workshop.
Late Arrival
We ask that all participants try to arrive 5 minutes early for class, so that class can start on time. Arriving late to class is disruptive to both teachers and your class mates.
If you are going to arrive late to class, please contact your teacher.
