Improv Queensland’s team of experienced teachers can run workshops for your students introducing them to the basic concepts of improvisation.
Theatresports™ Crash Course
Perfect for schools taking part in the Youth Theatresports Competition
A 60 - 90 minute session that introduces students to the key impro skills and the Theatresports format. Students will also be introduced to 1 or 2 classic improv games and receive resources to support competition preparation. Ideal for new schools or junior teams taking part in the Youth Competition for the first time.
$250 — 1 to 1.5 hours, up to 24 students ($215 for schools new to the competition)
Improv Basics
This series of classes introduces students to core improv skills and concepts
These classes introduce students to skills fundamental to improvisation, such as how to connect with scene partners, accept and build on ideas and how to set up scenes for success. It will also guide students on how to approach common Theatresports games. Ideally run as three 1.5 hour sessions, however there is flexibility in how the content can be presented.
$250 per session — 1 to 1.5 hours, up to 30 students.
Improv for drama
This session teaches students skills to move beyond improv games to creating improvised scenework
This can be presented as a series of workshops or a one-off intensive. The workshop teaches more advanced skills such as status, objectives, spacework and storytelling skills. The skills taught in the workshop will assist with other drama projects and will teach students how to create more sophisticated longer scenes.
