New Year, New Name - ImproMafia is now Improv QLD (but we’re keeping the pineapples).

After 18 years under the ImproMafia banner, we have decided to change our name! We wanted a name that better reflects who we are and where we’re headed as a company. So, say hello to… Improv Queensland (IQ)!

Since our founding in 2004, we have grown significantly.  Our improvisers are now performing nationally and internationally, providing world-class training, inventing new theatre formats, producing shows for arts festivals, and winning awards. We are now a well-established part of the Australian improv scene.

Still, this wasn't a quick or easy decision for us. We all have many fond memories of working under the ImproMafia brand. However, as the company grows and develops, we'd like our identity to reflect who we are today and who we're working to become tomorrow. We are proud to be a Brisbane-based, Queensland company devoted to the art of unscripted theatre. 

Our email addresses and social media handles will be updated shortly, so keep your eyes open for that (and let us know if anything is missed by our team of volunteers!). Overall branding will remain largely the same, but you can now find us on our brand new website at www.improvqld.com.au.
