Your Teacher - Becky Gethen
Becky has both an acting and Improvisation background which has seen her perform internationally as part of the Auckland Improv Festival and the Manila Improv Festival in 2023. Last year Becky also performed locally in the Theatresports Grand Championships as part of the winning team and performed in an Improvised dating show as part of the Fringe World Festival in Perth.
Becky’s career has seen her perform and facilitate workshops both locally and internationally to children, teenagers and adults in a variety of settings ranging from summer camps to prisons. Career highlights include working for Disney Cruise Line in the US and Bahamas, touring theatre in education to schools across Italy, as well as touring across the UK to hospitals and to remote Indigenous communities in Australia to deliver laughter and play to children and families through Improv in her role as Captain Starlight.
Becky loves the feeling of play, flow and spontaneity that comes with Improvisation to allow creativity, authenticity and trusting yourself and your instincts in the moment.
