Add some fun to your Monday nights!
This class will take an in-depth look at popular improv games from Theatresports and the TV show “Whose Line is it, Anyway?”
Not only will we practice games, we will also use them to hone and develop your improv skills. We will look at how to move beyond simply playing games for a gimmick or laugh, using the structures to create real improv magic on the stage.
This class will also teach you everything you need to know about the classic improv format, Theatresports, introducing you to the different elements of the show such as judges, the horn of salvation, and challenges. The class will also discuss the philosophy and history which underpin these elements, giving you insight into their purpose and how to make use of them in a show.
This workshop will help students who are looking to refine their performance skills and hit the stage with increased confidence and power.
It is also perfect for people wanting to get back into improv, or those wanting to learn more about Improv Queensland's approach to improvisation. We also recommend this class for teachers or Theatresports coaches looking to gain additional skills and insights for their students.
Please note: Our classes are primarily aimed at adults - if you are under 18, let us know and we will confirm if you can attend the class.
