Ignore the rules: improv intensive with Patti Stiles

  • The Echange 81 Musk Avenue Kelvin Grove, QLD, 4059 Australia (map)

This one day workshop with Patt Stiles will explore her philosophy of improvisation – that we should not be constrained by the ‘so-called’ rules of improvisation but should instead approach work courageously and authentically.

The workshop will focus on two core techniques which are central to her approach to the work – embracing failure in a meaningful way and using improvisation to tell stories. The aim is not to teach participants the right way to do a scene, but to instead give you the tools you need to tell the stories you want to tell.
Patti will show you how to apply these techniques to your scenework and to improvise more confidently and playfully in future.
Patti will also use the opportunity of the extended format to provide you with kind but no nonsense feedback aimed at helping you grow as a performer.

We recommend booking as soon as possible as numbers are strictly limited.

Eligibility

The class is aimed at participants with some improvisation experience. You must have completed at least two workshops with Improv Queensland (or have completed equivalent training with another improvisation school) in order to register.
